| July 1922: ATTENTION!!! To all persons, who have relatives buried in Spicewood Friends cemetery: We have shamefully neglected the grounds. It is a reproach upon our professed respect and love for our departed relatives to allow the place where we laid their bodies to become a wilderness. It ought to be sacred to us. We want a thousand dollars to be placed in safekeeping, to put the grounds in decent order and to keep them in that condition for the years to come. WE can raise it, if we will. Come on with our subscriptions. It is now or never. Let's make it a delightful place, where we are not ashamed to go and take our frineds.
