Muncie Post-Democrat: 1921

According to an advertisement in the 1915-16 Muncie City Directory, the paper was named "The Muncie Post". The editor is listed as Geo. R. Dale with a circulation of 5,000. They also stated it was "The Only Democratic Newspaper in Delaware County". The subscription price was $1.50 per year and they said "It Tells the Truth".

The original name of this paper was "The Muncie Post". It was changed to "The Post-Democrat" or The Muncie Post-Democrat" around 1920.

George R. Dale served as Muncie Mayor for 5 years beginning in 1928.   [S5, 21 Apr 1996

The Muncie Daily News was absorbed as part of this paper

Housed in a three story building on the southeast corner of Mulberry and Adams streets which was the first building in Muncie to be built specifically to house a daily newspaper. The paper was housed in this building until the mid-1940s when it was moved to its present site at the southwest corner of Jackson and High Streets. [S5, 7 Apr 1996

As of 20 May 1996 The Muncie Star and the Muncie Evening Press will be replaced by a daily named The Star Press.

The Star Press (Muncie):

This paper had its beginning on 20 May 1996. It is a combination of The Muncie Star and The Muncie Evening Press. The two papers were combined and one daily paper was produced which would be a morning paper published 7 days per week. The publisher at the time of the change was Henry Bird.
