S8 | Interview, Living Robbins,
ID0005, 12 Dec 2006 by Living Robbins ID0001 Extract: Stated that when Lizzie's husband, James died she sold the farm and moved to Fishers and bought 2 houses. She lived in one of them and rented out the other one. She then sold the 2 houses and lived in the Odd Fellows Lodge in Indianapolis on Columbus Ave and kept house for them Extract: Stated that the kids liked to visit with Lizzy and James because they were such nice people - Jim was especially nice to the kids. They had a player piano and let the kids play it when they were over Extract: Dad stated that James and Lizzie got a new car and instead of it having 3 pedals it had 2 pedals and a gear shift and James was not able to get it to stop where he wanted it to. HE would open the doors on either end of his corn crib and drive his car around in circles through the corn crib trying to get it stopped inside the corn crib but was rarely successful. Usually Lizzie had to park it for him |

S10 | Interview, Living Robbins,
ID0005 18 Jan 2007 by Living Robbins ID0001 Extract: Very nice man. Liked the kids and would let them do pretty much what they wanted while visiting. They had a player piano that he let them play with. Jim had bought a new car with a transmission and a brake. He never managed to master the stopping part. He would open both doors on the granary and attempt to stop the car in the center of the building. He kept driving through the building but was never able to get the car stopped inside the building. It was mostly Lizzie that did the driving |
